Peripheral Nerve Surgery

Peripheral nerve surgery is a field of medicine that includes surgical interventions and treatments related to peripheral nerves in various parts of the body. Peripheral nerves are nerves outside the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord). These nerves provide communication to muscles, skin and internal organs.

Peripheral nerve surgery usually covers the following conditions:

2. Nerve Injuries: Nerve injuries resulting from trauma, cutting tools, fractures or surgical procedures fall into the field of peripheral nerve surgery.
