Spinal Surgery
Spinal surgery refers to surgical interventions involving the spinal cord (spinal cord) and spine (vertebra). These surgical interventions aim to correct spinal cord problems or spine-related conditions. Spinal surgery includes the treatment of spine problems, spinal cord tumors, disc herniations, calcifications, traumas, inflammatory conditions and various other disorders that may occur due to various reasons.
Spinal surgery can be of several different types:
-
Deformity Surgery: Includes surgical interventions for spinal deformities, such as scoliosis (curvature of the spine) or kyphosis (hunchback).
-
Degenerative Surgery: Includes surgical interventions for degenerative conditions of the spine, especially conditions such as disc herniations and spinal stenosis.
-
Tumor Surgery: Includes surgical interventions aimed at removing or treating tumors in the spinal cord or spine region.
-
Traumatic Surgery: Includes the correction of fractures or other damage resulting from spinal trauma.
-
Reconstructive Surgery: Includes surgical interventions to support or stabilize the spinal cord.
-
Inflammatory Surgery: Includes surgical interventions for inflammatory conditions, such as rheumatoid arthritis or ankylosing spondylitis.
